A Bit About Me

Pastor David Ray, Jr. here. I am glad you have stopped by. I grew up right here in central Maine in a little town called Ripley. I grew up in a Christian home involved in ministry work. My dad is a pastor. My mother tells me she was reading me Bible stories before I was even born. At an early age, I prayed and asked God to be me savior. As a teenager, I dedicated my life to the Lord. I was driving home one afternoon and listening to Christian radio and just felt like God wanted me to surrender my life to him. When I got home, I went to my bedroom, got on my knees and told the Lord I would go anywhere and do anything he wanted me to do. That lead me on a journey of studying his word. I attended New Brunswick Bible Institute and graduated in 2002. I started pastoring a church in Monson, Maine where I pastored for eighteen years. In 2014, I started pastoring a second church, which is where I am now, here at Grace Bible Church. We would love to have you come and grow and serve the Lord here with us.

God has blessed me with a wonderful wife, Kourtney, and four great kids, Davy, Katelyn, Kayla, and Daniel. We enjoy reading the Bible together and talking about how it applies to our lives.

My life verses are Romans 12:1–2 “Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”

I want to live my life out in a way that honors God and stands out as a contrast to the way of the world. It is the choices we make, big and small, every day that make up our lives. I love to preach books of the Bible in an expository fashion. So, come join us in our journey through different books of the Bible. I do look forward to meeting you!
